    1840 1d BLACKS - PLATE 5 - JG-MH - A VERY RARE USED VERTICAL BLOCK OF EIGHT with black MX cancellations. three wide margins, cut into at right. A rare and significant multiple. A rare and significant multiple with less than a dozen recorded from this plate. Note: this is an exceptional large multiple from plate 5 - far scarcer in used blocks than the earlier plates and one of very few surviving vertical blocks of eight from any plate.
