    IMPERFORATE ISSUES ON COVERS TO OVERSEAS DESTINATIONS - TO FRANCE - SPECTACULAR 8as-RATE COVER WITH TWO 2as PAIRS EX CALCUTTA "Per [S.S.] HINDOSTAN"; Very fine 22 Feb. 1855 EL (in English) from Calcutta to Marseilles endorsed "Per Steamer Hindostan" with 2 fine pairs of the scarce 2as Green (4m all round both though the faint outer guide-lines shaved at top right of top pair) all tied by fine Calcutta dotted diamond cancels with red boxed "INDIA PAID" alongside & matching 2-ring "CAL/*G.P.O.*" cds on flap. Excellent example of 8as-rate to Med. ports; charged "10" (decimes) ingoing sea postage on delivery. Exhibition Quality. Cross Reference : FRANCE
